With a full team this morning, and everyone eager to play their part, we started with Laiya in goal and Neve as captain and we were ready to go from the first whistle.
The game was close matched with both teams have good possession on a tough pitch and saves from both goalkeepers kept the game close.
Boden and Eryn both had lots of room on the wings and were flying up and down them all game, putting us in attack and chasing back whilst in defence.
Leonie, still full of confidence after last weeks great game, continued where she left off tackling really well, and coming close in attack.
Harla and Neve both had great games as well, strong in the tackle and chasing down any loose ball close to them. Scarlett settled in to the game quickly today and also showed some great close skill, taking the ball from the opposition players and looking up for a pass.
Lainey held up the defence 1st half, super quick as always and not afraid to get a tackle in when required.
2nd half, with the game still very close, Boden went in goal and saved a couple of crucial shots and Laiya dropped in to defence. She had a great game, covering players when they went on the attack and chasing back when gaps were exposed. Eryn and Harla continued to pepper their goal with shots and Lainey moved higher up the pitch in an attempt to claim a goal.
Overall, another fantastic performance by everyone. It was a great game to watch and hopefully everyone enjoyed playing their part.
x2 'Girls of the Game' today;
Laiya for a good performance in goal and for some excellent work in defence 2nd half.
Lainey for being smart on the ball, and getting stuck straight back in following a couple of weeks away.
Well done everyone, our Cup campaign starts next weekend with some challenging games but ones we are ready for.
