From the start, our team was switched on and we were playing some great football, popping the ball around the pitch and we created some half chances during the 1st half.
Against the run of play, Maltby broke away and scored but we didn’t allow our heads to drop, and we kept going, probing to score a deserved equaliser.
Chance after chance we had, and it looked like it wasn’t going to be our day but after some pressure, a great ball from midfield to Aaliyah, who opended up our scoring.
This is how the half ended, 1-1.
The team talk at half time was more of the same, but to be more clinical in front of goal.
Maltby scored the first goal in this half but we came back with 2 quick goals through Aaliyah again, taking the lead in the game for the first time.
Chances to put the game to bed went begging before Maltby equalised to make it 3-3. They then had the momentum and were on the ascendancy now.
We defended really well but with 10 mins to go, Maltby scrambled the ball into the goal to make it 3-4.
Again, our heads didn’t go down and we remained positive and we almost grabbed an equaliser at the death but it wasn't to be today.
The game finished 3-4 which didn’t feel like a true reflection of the whole game but credit to Maltby.
The ladies gave their all again and we are on the right track so well done.
Player of the Match was Aaliyah. Scoring a hatrick and causing Maltbys defence problems all game.
